Hi! My name is Erika Hazel and I am the Bizerkeley Vegan, a vegan food blogger and expert who works to uplift amazing vegan food that is meat eater-approved. I have been hosting philanthropy-based events since I was 8 years old and "party" is basically my middle name. I love throwing gatherings with people in the community around plant-based foods to debunk the myth that vegan food is grass. I currently run the Bay Area's largest vegan food festival for the past 4 years.
Who are you?
Hi! I’m Erika Hazel, The Bizerkeley Vegan, and I’m thrilled you’re visiting my website! Here are a few quick facts about me:
What do you do?
As a kid, I dreamed of many careers. As an adult, I aspire to be one of your favorite Bay Area food bloggers/food critics, a vegan entrepreneur, and a passionate event planner!
When did you start your vegan journey?
I went vegan in October 2016, just after ending a relationship with someone who wore shirts promoting animal consumption. I've been a school counselor since 2017, sharing my love for veganism by encouraging healthy eating habits among my students.
Where are you based?
Berkeley has been my home for five years and counting. This city ignites a special kind of excitement in me that cannot be contained.
